Conspiracy Theories

Conspiracy Theories
DISCLAIMER: A conspiracy theory is an explanation of an event or situation that invokes a conspiracy without warrant, generally one involving an illegal or harmful act carried out by government or other powerful actors. Conspiracy theories often produce hypotheses that contradict the prevailing understanding of history or simple facts.

The Aids Virus was created in a Laboratory
The theory of government involvement of the Aids Virus came about when it first became an epidemic in the 1980’s. According to the pamphlet, scientists at a Fort Detrick, Md., military lab manufactured the disease by synthesizing HTLV-1 (a retrovirus that causes T-cell leukemia) with Visna (a sheep virus). The scientists are said to have administered their lethal concoction to prison inmates. One of the more famous arguments, however, is that Aids is a “punishment from god”; a plague for homosexuals.

Chemtrails
Chemtrails are a theory thought to be the government or other parties adding chemicals to the air via planes. Harvard has conducted studies to prove or debunk this theory, and researched Albedo Modification (AM) to start. AM is a technology that could enable people to modify what is being put into the atmosphere, like materials to reflect more light back to space. However, this hasn’t been studied a great deal because of the physical risk, along with ethical issues. Harvard is confident that there is no way to test or implement AM outdoors.  There is very weak and little proof on Chemtrails, mainly that the controls or flying of the planes look different, almost like saying because someone acts different there must be aliens among us.

Poisonous Government Snow

In 2014, a snowstorm hit Atlanta, Georgia. After the snow, people were suspicious about the way the snow “melted”, in the fact that it didn’t. Countless videos and twitter posts showing the snowballs charring black when lit on fire, and instead of melting just shrinking some. However, others have debunked this using other methods of melting the snow like how they held it or the heat they used on it, and discovered the snow did melt normally when held differently. Although a lot of the snow was still questionable.

Prom

Prom
By: Hope Scotting

Montrose High School prom is taking place March 25th. To accommodate for the larger high school, prom will be occurring in the new gym. The gym will be decorated with flowers, arches, and water. The junior class will begin building and setting up prom on Sunday, March 19th. The class asks that after Sunday you do not enter the gym. Setting up prom takes lots of time and organization. The class would greatly appreciate it if you did not enter the gym as you could possibly break and move something.

The prom banquet, to start off prom, will begin at 6 o’clock on Saturday. The location of the banquet has also been changed this year. It is at the American Legion, located on Main Street, this year. The banquet is only for the juniors and seniors. After the banquet the students will return to the school. The gym will be locked up 7:25 pm. No students or parents will be allowed into the gym before this time. This is done to allow the gym to still look nice before grand march. There will no exceptions to allowing parents or students into the gym. You can arrive at the school before 7:25 pm to line up and be one of the first into the gym if you would like. Grand March begins at 7:30 pm on March 25th.Have a safe and fun prom.

National FFA Organization

National FFA Organization is an intracurricular organization. FFA stands for Future Farmers of America. It is for people who are interested in agriculture and leadership. National FFA Organization is to help students grow in leadership, personal growth, and career success through agriculture education. It makes a positive difference in the lives of students.
FFA is funded through sponsorships and individual donations. Every year each member pays their national dues which is seven dollars.
I think that FFA is important to all students because it opens up many opportunities. It offers a different type of learning. FFA helps students grow in leadership and interest in agriculture. I think that it will be something kids in our school will enjoy very much because of all the agriculture background in our area. It will help our school be more involved in the agriculture community.
