100 Years of American Beauty

American “beauty” over the last 100 years has changed quite a bit, whether it be influenced by popular celebrities at the time or just a random inspiration. In today’s society, there are so many changing styles almost month to month. Some people even take it to changing hair colors every day. Below are some pictures of American Style and Beauty of men and women throughout the years.

In the 1910’s, side ponies were where it’s at, as well as wild mustaches and slicked back hair.

Surprisingly, sailor hats were the rage for men, and big curled hoops on top of a woman’s head was too in the 1940’s.

Big hair and bigger facial hair was the rage in the 70s. One superstition was, “the bigger the hair, the closer to god”

The 2000s is when the Kardashian’s styles really had an influence on American women, and Justin Bieber for the guys.

Messier hair styles for both the genders really took off in the 2010s, and it looks the man bun really made an impression into today.
